Reptilian Humanoid at Michigan Lake

Writing in the Saga UFO Report in March 1977, Gray Barker detailed a weird encounter that happened near William's Lake, Michigan.

The incident occurred late at night on May 15, 1976.

A couple observed a peculiar light that "hovered and oscillated" rapidly over the area above the lake. Later that night, they were parked in an isolated spot next to the lake when they spotted another light over the water.

The man leaned out of the window to get a better look when something grabbed him. He jumped back inside then a huge, dark humanoid shape leaned over the car and began scratching and rocking the vehicle.

A creature, described as having a huge, reptilian like face with a wide slit mouth and bulbous eyes thrust itself partly through the window and grabbed one of the witnesses with a large, flipper like hand.

The second witness struck the creature on the face with a bottle and it withdrew outside. The creature then retreated and apparently jumped into the lake, as the witness heard a loud "splash."

Save the Bellaire House!

Kristen Lee, owner of the haunted Bellaire house in Bellaire, Ohio has launched a gofundme campaign to save the home.

The saga surrounding the house is long and convoluted. Kristen went through her own personal hell while living in the home, a journey she documented in her book "1699 Belmont Street: A Portal to Hell." As she states in the advert for the book:

"Imagine living with a small child and having an inhuman specter haunt you. Imagine having years of paranormal experience that you cannot explain or have the courage to speak of. Imagine having your family torn apart by paranormal activity and spirits that want you to be isolated so they can do as they please to you inside a portal to Hell."

In the years since her experiences, Kristen has made great strides in recovering from those years and she has continued to move forward, offering the home to the paranormal community so that other teams could experience the wide range of phenomena and document evidence of the supernatural.

Out of the blue, Kristen was recently hit with a demand for payment of past due monies on the home. I won't go into all the details as to why these claims of monies due are suspect. Most of it Kristen has publicly posted herself on her social media pages. Needless to say, she is now in a battle to save the home both for herself, her business, and for the paranormal community at large.

Kristen has taken very active steps in raising money to save the home, including several events and an auction of haunted items. Now, she's calling out for further help with the launching of the gofundme campaign.

Please check out the page and contribute if at all possible. There are some great perks for those who can contribute, and even the smallest donation will help save this historic and fascinating haunted home.

Abandoned House Bellaire, Ohio

Right beside the notoriously haunted Bellaire House sits another, abandoned home with a dark history.

A lot of stories are associated with this place. Stories of death, drug use, child abuse and more. What caused the last residents to suddenly leave? Simple misfortune and loss of income, or something more sinister?

While spending time recently in Bellaire, we took a late night journey into this creepy location. Debris, refuse and drug paraphernalia litter the home. Furnishings and clothing remain. The atmosphere is unsettling. Some areas of the house were too dangerous to venture into due to black mold and rotting floors, but what we did see was certainly creepy.

Check out the video for a glimpse of what we came away with:

1699 Belmont Street

Dave Spinks and I were recently back for yet another investigation at the notorious Bellaire House in Bellaire, Ohio.

We've been called to this location on countless occasions and on each visit, the level of activity and manifestations varies.

Located at 1699 Belmont Street, the home has a long history of paranormal activity. Dave and I have done extensive investigations in the Bellaire house, fully documenting its supernatural history. There are numerous factors that may contribute to the strange activity that has taken place in the house. Land cursed by Native Americans, mining disasters in the coal mines under the home and seances and other spiritual activity practiced in the house over the years are just a few of the things involved in this haunting.

As always, thanks to our good friend, and owner of the Bellaire House, Kristen Lee, for asking us in to investigate.

Check out the video below for a taste of what we captured this time around:

PA Bigfoot Camping Adventure Reviewed

It was cold and raining last weekend in the hills of Pennsylvania, but despite the weather, the Bigfoot Camping Adventure rolled on.

This was the event's second year and enthusiasts from around the country proved that not even mother nature would prevent them from turning out to gather and discuss the hairy creature known as Sasquatch.

Organized and hosted by Eric Altman, the event was held at the Brenner's Meadow Run Campground in Farmington, PA. Surrounded by prime Sasquatch country, a lot of attendees braved the elements and took part in night hikes through the trails around the campground, searching for signs of the elusive beast.

During the day on Saturday and Sunday, there were numerous talks given by notables in the field including Rosemary Ellen Guiley, Steve Kulls, Stan Gordon and many more.

There was even a showing of The Legend of Boggy Creek, a film that inspired many modern cryptozoologists. There was plenty of food on hand, a charity auction featuring some amazing Bigfoot related items, music, and lots of sharing of accounts of Sasquatch encounters.

The best part was, the whole event was put together to support some local charities!

It was great to hang out with Eric, Lon Strickler, Jay Bachochin and of course, good friend, Rosemary Ellen Guiley.

Eric Altman deserves a ton of credit for pulling this off despite the weather, the stress of organizing such an event, and the other various challenges that arose.
It's a real sign of both dedication, and how much people were enjoying themselves, that many braved the cold and rain to participate in the weekend's events.

Eric says he's taking a break and won't produce an event next year. Time will tell, but I suspect there'll be a lot of people calling for a return of the Bigfoot Camping Adventure!

Haunted Toys on C2C

Lots of great feedback from Saturday night's Coast to Coast AM show that I appeared on along with Ross Allison. The C2C website has posted a brief rundown on some of the highlights of the show:

"In the second half of the program, researchers David Weatherly and Ross Allison talked about their new exploration into the world of haunted toys--unnerving games that skirt the edges of darkness, antiques with spirits that have never let them go, locations where ghosts still play with toys and, or course, creepy dolls that are a bit too lifelike. Some items can become possessed or have spirits attached to them which try to communicate with or create trouble for the owner, Weatherly explained. There are many dolls similar to Annabelle and Robert, he added.

According to Allison, a child with a strong attachment to a toy may not know how to let go of the toy in death. The toy may hold residual energy from the experience of the child who played with it and part of the child's consciousness could be attached to it, Weatherly added. He reported on the history of the Devil Baby Doll and how even modern versions of these dolls haunt their owners. Allison spoke about a game which involves playing Hide and Go Seek Alone with a possessed doll.

The two men also covered disturbing games, including Charlie Charlie and the Bath Game. "We're talking about games that are essentially designed to summon something," Weatherly warned, pointing out how these games may open portals that remain accessible by spirits. Allison detailed the Bath Game in which a child enters the tub in a darkened bathroom, washes his hair, and chants to summon the ghost of a woman who died while bathing. "Some claim that you'll actually feel her wet hair coming up on your back or you might feel her breathing on you," he said. Perhaps the creepiest thing about the game is it starts the next day after the bath ritual. The spirit follows the child around the next day but should not be allowed to catch him, Allison revealed."

Shaq: UFO Hunter

Retired basketball star Shaquille O'Neal has announced his new reality television series, Shaq: UFO Hunter, debuting this fall.

O'Neil says he is very excited about the new twist in his career path, but that it's actually what he's wanted to do his entire life:

"I've wanted to chase UFO's my whole life. In fact, that's why I became a basketball player. All those years of looking up for the basket was good practice for sky watching. Getting the ball past opposing players was, in my mind, practice in getting past those nasty little alien greys.

I'm well versed in all the information that's already out there about UFOs and spacemen. In fact, I have every episode of the X-Files on DVD. Most of them I've watched more than once."

Asked about the rumor that Michael Jordan, another retired Basketball star, would be joining him on the show, Shaq responded:

"Nah, nah, Micheal's cool and we talked about the possibility of doubling teaming against the greys, but man, he gets all crazy talking about Bigfoot and stuff. I don't buy the whole Bigfoot thing at all. I think all those tracks people find are from Basketball stars out hiking. I'm just going to do this show solo with a small crew of about 30 production people, so it could get scary out there.

Shaq: UFO Hunter premieres a year from now on April 1, 2018.

SOS Investigation: Indiana Haunted Tunnels

The Society of the Supernatural has been called to Indiana on numerous occasions. The state is rife with paranormal activity and haunted locations. Here's a short video from some of the time we spent investigating some haunted tunnels in the state.

These tunnels are thick limestone sprinkled throughout with quartz crystal. We decided it was a good location to utilize the Jacob's ladder to further amp up the energy.
Despite being deep underground, we were able to pick up communication on a ghost box. Some of the communication was taunting and bizarre.

There were other, anomalous sounds in the tunnel as well as shadow figures. Historical info on the location says that both men and women were abused in these tunnels and there are rumors of various nasty entities making themselves known to any who dare the dark passages.

Winchester House on the Big Screen

Another historic location famous for paranormal activity is making its way to the silver screen.

CBS Films has announced that principal photography has begun on "Winchester," a film based on the Winchester mystery house in San Jose, California and the legacy of the Winchester family.

Billed as a "supernatural thriller," the film stars Academy Award winner Helen Mirren as Sarah Winchester, the key figure in the construction of the home and its strange layout.

Legend says that Sarah believed she was haunted by the spirits of everyone killed by the Winchester repeating rifle. After her husband and child passed away, Winchester was plagued by the voices of countless souls, angry and upset over their passing. It was the heyday of spiritualism and according to reports of the time, a medium from Boston purportedly channeled Mr. Winchester and told Sarah to leave her home in New Haven and travel west. There, she should continuously build a home for both herself and the restless spirits who were victims of the Winchester rifles.

Other sources claim that Sarah believed that her family fortune itself was cursed by the ghosts of those killed by the rifles and only by building the home, could she quiet the spirits.

As to the movie version of the story, according to a press release for the film:

"The film follows the story of firearm heiress Sarah Winchester (Mirren), who was convinced that she was haunted by the souls killed at the hands of the Winchester repeating rifle. After the sudden deaths of her husband and child, she threw herself into the 24 hours a day, seven days a week construction of an enormous mansion designed to keep the evil spirits at bay. But when skeptical San Francisco psychiatrist Eric Price (Clarke) is dispatched to the estate to evaluate her state of mind, he discovers that her obsession may not be so insane after all. WINCHESTER will take audiences inside the labyrinth-like house that is believed to be one of the most haunted places in the world."
The Winchester Mystery house is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a California Historical Landmark. Tours of the home are available, more information available at the official website:

Haunted Historic Resort

Here's a recent investigation conducted by Society of the Supernatural at a historic resort in West Virginia.

In its heyday, the location was a popular destination for those seeking healing in the rich mineral springs that run through the property. During the Civil War, the home served as a hospital for soldiers from both sides of the conflict.

Numerous deaths occurred on the land and there's a range of supernatural activity associated with the home. Strange light anomalies, apparitions, shadow figures, and disembodied voices are all part of the unexplained activity.

Check out a portion of our investigation below, and be sure to subscribe, lots more coming:

Voodoo Doll Causes Trouble in Nicaragua

Photo via: vivanicaragua13
Santa Tomas, Nicaragua, a small village in the southern region of the country, has been struck with a bizarre series of incidents being attributed to black magic.

Citizens of the village appear to be suffering from "grisi siknis," or, "crazy sickness" in English. The syndrome has been known to affect communities in Central America.

Symptoms of the condition include dizzy spells, nausea, paranoia, outbursts of anger and periods of 'rapid frenzy' that include wild movements and out of control behaviors. Those suffering the condition can become very violent during their episodes. Victims also have visions of demons and spirits while in their trance like state and are believed to be possessed during their fits.

Over thirty villagers have now been affected by the symptoms. Even the contagious aspect of the condition is odd. When a person is infected, they announce the name of the next person who will come down with the disease.

One woman in the village attempted to help her friends by creating an herbal remedy for the condition. Marisella, who makes herbal potions, mixed up a remedy to pour over the affected victims hoping it would drive away the evil spirits.

She determined that the source of the trouble was black magic and that someone intentionally worked a spell to affect the village. Following up on her theory, Marisella believes that she found the source of the dark spell: a voodoo doll.

The doll was found hidden in the village. It wears a black ribbon and has a cross drawn across its face. Marisella and the other villagers believe that the doll was used to place a curse on them and send evil spirits into their midst.

The people decided to burn the doll believing that such an act would break the dark magic placed on them.

Mass possession, mass hysteria, or something else at work?
No further updates have been reported on current conditions in the village, only time will tell if the burning ceremony has somehow cleansed the community and its people.

Flying Cigars and Giant Humanoids in 1950s Argentina

In the 1950's a series of strange reports came from a remote region of Argentina. The incidents caught the attention of those tracking UFO reports at the time and the activity was attributed to possible visitors from another planet.

But looking at the details closely, with an open mind, we find that these reports move into territory uncomfortable for many investigators--a case that appears to have elements of both UFO activity and evidence of giant humanoids with traits similar to Sasquatch.

Flying cigar shaped crafts, strange cries ringing out in the wilderness, giant human like prints high in the mountains and more. Here are more of the details:

The Atacama region of Argentina, location of strange incidents.
Puna Atacama, Argentina. A desolate region located on the heights of the Cordilleras, near the country's border with Chile.

Statements were made to reporters in 1956 that indicated there was evidence of:

"...strange beings on the snowy caps of the Macon, a mountain which rises to a height of 6,700 meters."

"The witnesses said that they had seen tracks, human-like in characteristics, of giant proportions, not only in the frozen sands of the Macon, but also in the snow on the pampas where they abode."

Apparently, the tracks were first seen and reported a year before, in the fall of 1955. Coinciding with the tracks were reports of a "colossal commotion" on the side of the mountain. People in the region believed that an aerial object had made impact with the mountain. The incident site was never investigated and there were no reports of missing planes in the area at the time.

Some locals stated that the object that crashed into the side of the mountain was a "giant airship of a strange form like a Havana cigar."
"Flying cigars" similar to this were being reported in the skies over Argentina.
In fact, locals made numerous statements that they had seen craft shaped like "flying cigars" in the skies over Salar de Guisare. A few weeks after these reports, people living in the area started to talk about the strange tracks being found high in the mountains.

The two incidents may be unrelated, but UFO trackers of the period speculated there was a connection. It was, after all, the 1950's a time when people were convinced that the Earth could be invaded by spacemen at any time. One researcher wrote:

"...these facts have given rise to the possibility that extra-terrestrial beings are landing on the planet earth!"

According to an article of the time:

"It is to be noted that due to the vast extension of snowy pampas on the heights of the Atacama, the place is ideal for such landings of airships of gigantic proportions, and may well indeed be related to the declaration of the residents of the region, who affirm that they have seen flying over the region, strange ships whose length was calculated at 300 meters!

The National Gendarmes supplied the newspapers with some photographs showing the passage of the strange craft in the skies over Salta and these were similar to those seen in other parts of the world."
(I have been unable to locate these photos as of the posting of this article)

Purportedly, there was more evidence and testimony gathered from locals as the incidents were probed further:

"Informants declared that on occasions they have heard, with great clarity, strange cries resounding during the time of the setting sun and especially when the creeks began to freeze at nightfall.

In addition, people have said that, among the crags where the condors and eagles make their abodes, they have found quantities of these birds dead and partially destroyed, and their nests ravaged.

The witnesses also said that in all the cases, near or around the nests, they have seen giant human-like tracks which cannot be attributed to bears, as was thought in the beginning."

Apparently, according to locals, although the details of these incidents were known for some time, they were not reported for fear of ridicule.

Locals in the area, especially those who ventured into the mountains and saw the evidence, believed that the incidents were proof of the intrusion of strange visitors in the region.

Apparently, a "well known geologist" by the name of Spitch reported seeing the anomalous tracks in the mountains which prompted other people to come forward with their testimonies.

What exactly was going on in the skies over Argentina? Experimental aircraft? Actual extraterrestrial visitors?

And what made the giant, human like tracks high in the mountains while raiding the nests of dangerous raptors and other birds?

Some researchers at the time made immediate connections believing that giants had come down to visit from another planet. Later researchers dismissed the incidents because they didn't fit a comfortable paradigm of nuts and bolts UFOlogy. But in a quiet village in Argentina, locals knew that something unusual was in their midst.

Some reports of these incidents were originally filed by Horacio Gonzalez Ganteaume.

McRaven Mansion Investigation

Known as Mississippi's "Most Haunted House" the McRaven mansion is a pre-Civil War home in historic Vicksburg.

The first part of the home was built in 1797. A time when George Washington was still president and before Mississippi was even a state. The home was expanded in 1836 during the "empire" period and again in 1849 when a prominent manufacturer added a Greek Revival style portion to the house.

With its long history, there's a range of spirits associated with McRaven including: Mary Elizabeth Howard who tragically died after giving birth in 1836, John Bob, a prominent businessman murdered by Union troops after the siege of Vicksburg, and members of the notorious Murrell gang, bandits and highway robbers active in the region 200 years ago.

Society of the Supernatural recently spent some time in Mississippi and had a chance to investigate this amazing, historic location.

We had some crazy activity, especially in the oldest portion of the home, and got confirmation on a reported "peeping ghost" that numerous people have reported in the home's front room.

Special thanks to Brian Riley of the Mississippi Paranormal Society & of course, the owners of McRaven for having us in. We loved the place and look forward to returning.

Check out some of our time at McRaven below. There are several videos from this investigation as our livestream was interrupted. More videos available at the Society of the Supernatural Youtube page.

Nexus Newsfeed App

Nexus Magazine first appeared in Australia in 1987 has a quarterly publication. By the 1990s, it was taken over by different publishers and became a full fledged, bi-monthly magazine. Circulation grew quickly since Nexus covered cutting edge, alternative information that many other magazines avoided.

I remember discovering the magazine myself back in the 90's when it was available at newsstands as an import. I still have tons of back issues. From ancient mysteries, to alternative health, science, UFOs and much, much more, Nexus covers the spectrum for those interested in alternative thought.

As conspiracy writer Jim Marrs states:

"Nexus Magazine should be on every thinking person's desk. It fills that news gap between fact and fancy, covering topics unfamiliar to most people."

Nexus has recently relaunched with a new look and can be found on newsstands and in mainstream bookstores. But that's not all, keeping up with the changing, digital world, the magazine is also available in electronic format, and, best of all, they've created an app that allows people to keep up with news on a daily basis.

The app has come in sort of "under the radar" so to speak. Although it's been available for over a year, there are still a lot of people in the field who seem unaware of it. I downloaded it myself some time back and have been using it on a regular basis. Being on the road a lot, these types of apps are great tools.

The app opens to the main news feed. This gives you all the latest postings and it's updated on a daily basis. You'll get a mix of everything this way from health to the unexplained to politics and everything in between. If you want to filter the feed and see the latest from a particular category, there's a drop down menu that will let you pick your topics. The designers have done an excellent job as there are just the right amount of categories to easily get to the type of news you want.

The format is easy on the eyes too. There's a graphic on the left side and the headline is on the right along with the date and category that the story falls under. Clicking in to the headline will give you the full story, along with a link to the original source. It's a great way to discover sites you might not be aware of.

My only disappointment in the app comes from the feed for "events." This is listed in the drop down menu and, as the tag implies, gives you a list of events worldwide. At least, that's the idea.

And it's a great one, especially for those who travel and want to network, or, those who want to plan travel specifically around conferences and workshops. Unfortunately, it seems to get the least amount of attention from those responsible for the feed. Checking the list today, there are only about a half dozen events listed. On any given weekend, there are tons of conferences, workshops, seminars and more around the world. To be fair, I've no doubt that it would be a full time job keeping up with all the various events. However, even a cursory glance online would yield a lot more than are shown on the feed.

Overall, I highly recommend this app. I've always enjoyed the magazine and the convenience of the news feed is certainly handy.
The app is available for both apple and android users.

House of the Haunted Fields

In rural Mississippi, there's a small house that looks like something from another era. Cobbled together with pieces from other homes that used to stand in the area, the house sits surrounded by cotton fields and dark woods.
There's no power, no light pollution from cities, no sounds of traffic or people. The darkness and quite alone can be unnerving for those used to the sounds of bustling cities.

The place is now known as "The House of the Haunted Fields" and it's slowly gaining a reputation for several reasons.

Each year, around Halloween, there's a haunted attraction on the property with creepy scenes from horror films. Characters ranging from Jason Vorhees to Fredy Kruger can be spotted lurking in the shadows and people come to have a good scare for a small fee.

But outside of the "fun scares" provided during the fall, there's another unsettling fact about this property--It really is haunted.

There's a wide range of reports from this historic location. It's a brief drive from Vicksburg, a major hub of activity during the Civil War. Various entities have been reported at the site, not just within the home, but also outside, in the cotton fields and woods that surround it.

There are reports of a ghost train that can still be heard, though even the original tracks are now long gone.
A strange entity known as the "tree man" has been seen, leaping among the branches of trees that surround the house. Ghostly apparitions have been spotted all around the land. Why is it such a vortex of activity?

The Society of the Supernatural was invited to the home to look for some answers and evidence. It was a cray investigation to say the least.

For more info on the house, check out their Facebook page, they're great people!

February 2017 BEK Update

This month's roundup of some recent BEK reports includes two from Lon Strickler's Phantoms and Monsters blog:

"One was very tall and lanky, wearing a dark hooded cape. The other was short, like the size of a 5-year-old, dressed in a black one-piece suit that covered its head. And yet, I had an unmistakable sense that the smaller one was the 'person in charge' of the duo and the situation. I was scared since I thought these two were up to 'no good' and I couldn't understand why my husband had let them in-at the same time wondering where he was."

So says "Jaye" who reported her encounter to Strickler recently. Jaye's account falls within the standard BEK accounts, but the aftermath is even creepier since Jaye says she may have become pregnant during the incident.

More details at Lon's blog here:

Strickler has also recently posted another BEK account, this one involving a woman who answers the door to find a creepy kid wanting entrance. The interesting thing about this report is the reaction of the woman's cat. Check it out here:

Finally, in the "make up your own mind" department this month, a video from Fantastic News Daily claiming that a pair of black eyed kids have been arrested in Manchester. Purportedly the kids, a male and a female, were examined by a doctor after their arrest. According to the report, the Dr. stated that the black eyes were real and not the result of body modification or contacts.

Hey, I just report this stuff, watch the video and decided for yourself:

Check out Brainwaves Horror and Paranormal Talk Radio were I'll be discussing Haunted Toys, the new book I co-wrote with Ross Allison.

I'll be giving the run down on several of the creepy toys included in the book and maybe a few other stories too:

"We’ve all played with toys. Hell, despite our age, some of us still do. Sometimes we can get too attached to them. Sometimes… they can get too attached to us! Sound spooky? You betcha! Coming up on episode 34 of Brainwaves Horror and Paranormal Talk Radio, we’ll have David Weatherly talking about haunted toys!
Tune in this coming Wednesday, February 22nd, at 8:00PM PT/11:00PM ET for all the shenanigans fit to be had! It’s radio without a safety net, kids. It’s Brainwaves: Horror and Paranormal Talk Radio."

Radio Misterioso Interview

I recently sat down with writer and researcher Greg Bishop to do an interview for his show, Radio Misterioso.

This was a great discussion as Greg and I share many similar viewpoints and, best of all, we delved into material not often covered on other shows.

As Greg states:

"We sat in a couple of comfy chairs in my room at this year's conference and explored ideas about manifested thoughtforms (also known by their Tibetan name: tulpas) the Philip experiment, bigfoot as a physical being with paranormal abilities (something I hadn't considered before) and his investigation of ghostly disturbances at the Ripley Museum in Florida. He is as thoughtful and non-dogmatic as they come in this field, and that is rare."

Check out the show at the link below and be sure to delve in to Greg's previous postings, there's lots of good material to be found.

B.E.K. Black Eyed Kids #11

The new issue of B.E.K. is out this week.

Continuing the creepy story by Joe Pruett and Szymon Kudranski, there are new turns in the story as more characters start coming together and the boy king continues to show his dark nature.

Also included in this issue, my regular backup column chronicling real encounters with the dark eyed entities. This month I relate the account of a BEK encounter that served as an omen of death.

Investigation at Ripley's, Panama City, Night 2

Our second night of investigation at Ripley's Believe it or Not in Panama City, Florida was just as intriguing as the first.

Manifestations this time included the sound of drums, picked up on an audio recorder, more disembodied voices and some amazing responses from the Poltercom while in the Titanic exhibit.

Most fascinating for me was a strange interaction while standing beside a statue of an African Snake God. The Xcam SLS mapped a manifestation appearing over the statue and moving beyond it. At the same time, when a ghost box was pointed at me, someone, or something, noted that I was a shaman.

Once again, Ripley's proved to be a fascinating place full of activity and haunted objects. We're honored to have been asked to investigate this amazing location.

Some of our footage from night two can be viewed here:

If you missed the first part of our investigation, you can find more information in my previous post:

Haunted Executioner's Table

Our recent investigation of the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum in Panama City, Florida yielded some amazing results. There was a wide range of paranormal activity at numerous locations within the building. Disembodied voices, unexplained sounds, intelligent responses to questions and more.

By far, one of the most intriguing pieces of evidence we collected was caught with the Xcam SLS camera. I've been working with the SLS cam for quite some time and it's an amazing piece of equipment. Designed by Bill Chappell, the device "maps" spirits as they attempt to manifest, appearing as stick figures on the device's screen. The SLS has been seen numerous times on Ghost Adventures.

While at the Ripley's museum, we encountered intense activity around an African executioner's table. The table is a hand carved piece that sits low to the ground. As its name implies, it was used for executions, specifically, be-headings. One spot on the top of the table is stained, apparently from extensive use.

While Sean Austin ran a spirit box session by the table, I aimed the SLS camera to see if anything would attempt to manifest and interact with him. Dave Spinks and I watched the stunning results.

A figure not only appeared next to the table, but it knelt, flopped its torso on the table and, as we watched, the head disappeared.

Check out the evidence clip below to see this unbelievable manifestation.

Investigation at Ripley's Panama City

Robert Ripley, creator of the famous "Ripley's Believe it or Not" comic series, traveled the world many times over, returning home to the states with a wide range of artifacts gathered from cultures far and wide.

His comic series was so popular that, at one time, he was receiving more mail than the president of the United States.

One of Ripley's visions was to have a series of museums, or, "Odditoriums" as he called them, around the country so that people could come and view the amazing things he had gathered.

Ripley passed away at the age of 58 in 1949, but his legacy has lived on, spanning successful television shows and more. His vision for Odditoriums has also continued and there are now locations around the world, each filled with unique items gathered by Ripley during his travels.

Recently, SOS (Society of the Supernatural) was invited to investigate Ripley's museum in Panama City, Florida. It was an amazing opportunity to say the least. We spent two nights in the museum and could have easily spent even more time, there are so many items, some with strange and intense histories behind them, that it was impossible to cover every singe thing.

Check out some of the footage from our livestream event of the first night at Ripley's:

If you're ever in Panama City, be sure to take time out for a visit to this amazing location. It's a great way to get a glimpse of the weird and fascinating world of Robert Ripley!

Thermal Anomaly at the Haunted Bellaire House

Society of the Supernatural has put in a lot of time investigating the notorious Bellaire House in Bellaire, Ohio.

Over the course of our time in the home, we have experienced a wide range of phenomena including ghost lights, evps, phantom smells and even physical contact with something unexplained.

On one of our investigations, we captured a weird thermal anomaly while conducting a spirit box session. A number of unsettling responses were coming from the ghost box with phrases related to a baby and something that "wanted the baby."

Has the box states, very clearly, the word "evil," the camera is panning around towards one of the front rooms and captures what appears to be the upper torso of a person. The image is very clear and in fact is a double image with what appears to be the figure's own shadow cast in a shade of blue.

There was no one in the room at that time, nor are there any reflective surfaces where the figure manifests.

Austin, Texas UFO

On Monday night, residents of Austin, Texas reported a UFO in the skies over the city.

Rachel Jensen and her roommate observed glowing, orange orbs that formed a triangle formation. At one point, they claim that a fourth orb joined the trio before they all rose in altitude and shot away out of sight.

Jensen filmed the event but the recording only shows one of the orbs dancing around in a curious manner.

However, Jensen wasn't the only one to report seeing unusual objects in the sky that night. At least five other people from Texas to Louisiana called the American Meteor Society to report fireballs in the sky.

Christopher Sherman, a photographer in the Austin area also captured shots of the strange object in the Austin skyline. Looking at those photos, it would appear that what he saw at least, did appear to be something like a fireball or shooting star, falling from the sky.

The puzzling aspect is Jensen's footage in which the object does not behave in such a manner at all.

"I believe they were UFOs" Jensen says.

It's possible of course, that both fireballs or meteors and UFOs were all in the skies over Texas on the same evening.

Sadly, as is typical when the mainstream media actually does report on an anomalous event, the news casters spoke with a smirk on their faces and the theme from X-Files playing in the background.

View Jensen's footage on the Fox news report:

Growling, Black Eyed Boys

Art by Sam Shearon
Samantha in Indiana reports on a creepy experience with a pair of black eyed kids who let out a disturbing

It was early morning, 3:30 AM, and I was leaving my home to go to work. I walked to the garage and pushed the button to open the garage door. As the door was opening, I began to walk to the driver's side door of the car. I got this strong feeling to look up and in the direction of the opening garage door. There stood two children. I jumped...startled. My heart raced.

They just stood there in the opening of my garage. Two boys looking to be about 13 to 15 years old, dressed in dark jeans and dark, pull over hoodies. Both with short, lighter colored hair, almost white. In comparison, one stood closer to the door than the other.

"Hello ma'am," the one closest to me said. The other one stood in the background with a strange smirk on his face.

I managed to get the words out with a shaky voice: "Is there anything I can do for you guys?" I asked.

I swallowed hard, I just got the feeling I needed to run.

Would they chase me into the house where my three children and husband were sleeping? He worked a second shift job.

"We stayed with a friend down the street and we need a ride home. Could you please give us a ride?" The closest boy asked. The boy furthest from me said nothing. He just stood with the same look on his face. He never looked away from me.

I was confused and not thinking clearly, still in shock that someone was standing right outside my garage. I tried to shake the feeling of fear to clear my head enough to talk to these kids. I wondered why the friend's parents that they stayed with wasn't taking them home. Why weren't the parents coming to get them? And why in the world were they up so early looking for a ride?

I finally got enough mind to reply.

"I'm sorry, but I'm going to work. If I stop anywhere, I will be late."

The one boy spoke again: "I'm sure it's on your way. It won't take long."

I looked over to the entrance door contemplating trying to run or just get in my car. When I turned back to the boys, there were side by side now. Their eyes seemed different. As I looked closer, their eyes were black in color. The deepest black I'd ever seen.

I started to feel panic rise inside me. They must have sensed it. They boy that didn't speak started grinning.

I screamed out for my husband, not knowing if he would hear me. Then they both opened their mouths wide and let out this yell, this growl that was so loud I couldn't even hear my own thoughts. I turned and ran for the house door. I slammed the button for the garage door on my way in. I burst through the house door, slamming it behind me and locking it.

I stood there, listening to the garage door going down which let me know they didn't run after me because if they had, it would have tripped the safety laser on the door and the door would have gone back up.

My husband came out of the bedroom wide-eyed, and asked what was going on. All I could manage to get out was there there were people outside.

He ran out the front door. A few minutes later, he came back. He said he didn't see anyone. No one in the yard. No one walking down the street.

Then I started to explain what just happened to me.

Needless to say, I now get in my car first and open the garage door with my remote. I will never open the garage door first again.

Beyond the Seventh Gate: Reviewed

"Don't look behind you on Toad Road!"

So begins "Beyond the Seventh Gate" by Timothy Renner.

The subtitle: "Exploring Toad Road, the Seven Gates of Hell, and Other Strangeness in York, Lancaster, and Adams Counties," is a bit lengthy but makes Renner's intent clear. The book is an exploration into the legend of the area that purportedly contains the seven gates and the associated weirdness that seems to permeate the place.

While this is a regional book and will of course appeal to those living in the area, it's also of interest to those intrigued by concentrated areas of high strangeness. There are a number of lesser known reports included in the book and this alone makes it of interest to those of us who collect such data.

Renner has done extensive research in the area, and not just from an armchair, but out exploring the location for himself while looking into the legends. Stories that include, burning asylums, mad Doctors and more, he strives to separate the myths from the real reports. The back of the book says it well:

"Journey beyond the Seventh Gate and into other weird places in York, Lancaster, and Adams Counties. Explore Hex Hollow, Chickies Rock, lonely graveyards, and old iron forges. Read true tales of bigfoot creatures, witches, ghosts, werewolves, and flying phantoms. Sometimes they haunt the woods behind you. Sometimes they are in your own back yard."

Renner also explores the story of Nelson Rehmeyer, a Pennsylvania Dutch "pow-wow medicine man" who was murdered in 1928. The author's take on the tales that surround Rehmeyer and Pennsylvania's most famous "hex murder" is worth the price of the book alone but he offers much more including UFO accounts, cryptid sightings and ghost stories.

Renner has written for Weird Pennsylvania and Weird U.S.A. as well as Morbid Curiosity. He's also an illustrator and has peppered the book with cool depictions of creatures such as Dogman and Goatman. He's also included photos taken during his explorations of the area.

I recommend the book for those interested in studies of regional creepiness as well as those fascinated by concentrated areas of strange events.

"Are there monsters prowling our fields and forests? Are ghosts singing in our cemeteries? Are orbs and mists following us through the park? Many witnesses say yes."

Humanoid Encounter in Finland:1970

There are some fascinating UFO cases that have come out of Finland, and some recent statistics indicate that the number of reports in the country are on the rise. This may of course, be due to increased ease in reporting encounters to online databases.

Here's an interesting, vintage case from the Imjarvi area. Imjarvi is in the south-central part of the country, well north of Finland's capital Helsinki.

This strange humanoid encounter purportedly led to additional experiences with a "spacewoman" as well as the appearance of psychic and healing abilities for one of the witnesses:

Date: January 7, 1970. Time: 4:45pm.

Aarno Heinonen and Esko Viljo saw a bright light in the sky approaching them with a buzzing sound. A round, 10-foot wide, metallic object with a flat bottom, wrapped at first in a reddish gray mist, descended to within 10-12 feet off the ground and the buzzing ceased.

It was so close to Heinonen that he could have touched it with his ski pole. From an opening in the center of the object's bottom, a bright light beam was emitted, creating an illuminated area of 3 feet in diameter and edged in black on the snow beneath it.

A red-gray mist descended again; when it cleared, both men could see, only 10 feet away, a 3-foot tall humanoid creature standing in the illuminated area carrying in its hands a black box with a pulsating yellow light.
The arms and legs were very thin. The face pale like wax, and the nose hooked. It wore a light green coverall with darker green knee boots, white gauntlets, and a conical, metallic helmet.

Then the mist again descended and long, red, green and purple "sparks" floated out from the lighted area. A sort of flame rose from this spot and entered the UFO; then, the mist vanished, as did the UFO.

After this experience, Heinonen found his right leg numb. He vomited and passed black urine. Viljo also suffered severe physiological effects. The former would claim, two years later, a series of contacts with a female "spacewoman."

According to Finnish researcher Tapani Koivula, Heinonen obtained psychic talents after the encounter and became a clairvoyant and healer. He died in the 1990's.

Viljo is still living in the Imjarvi area, but has remained very quiet about his experience.

SOS at the Bellaire House

The Bellaire House, in Bellaire, Ohio is the site of a notoriously dark haunting. Families have found themselves unable to live in the home, reportedly due to demonic activity.

The home's current owner, Kristen Lee, experienced extremely negative events while living in the home, including demonic sounds, physical encounters and incubus attacks.
While Kristen still owns the home, she no longer lives in it and rarely enters. She did join Society of the Supernatural on one of our investigations as we worked to uncover some of the home's secrets.

Society of the Supernatural has, in fact, investigated the house several times, and on each occasion, we encountered negative manifestations including threats over various ghost boxes, foul odors, physical touches and more.

Check out some of the footage from one of our numerous visits to this highly negative location:

Nightcrawlers in Indiana

By far one of the most popular post I've ever made on this blog is the story of the Fresno Nightcrawlers. There's quite a bit of follow up information on the case that I'm still looking into and trying to validate. Unfortunately, such things are often a slow process.

Still, not a week goes by that I don't receive questions about the case, most of them asking if there's any new information, or if there have been any more sightings of the weird stick like figures. Curiously, there have been a few sightings here and there that bear some common elements with the weird Nightcrawlers. Some of these are older reports of course and the Nightcrawler moniker didn't appear until the Fresno case. Still, the possible connections are interesting to examine.

Researcher Albert S. Rosales recently dug up a report from January 24, 2004.

In the case below, the joints that "buckle out," the strange, stick like appearance, and the odd movements all sound similar to the Fresno entities.

The time was 7:30 in the evening. The location: Manchester, Dearborn County, Indiana:

A 17 year old motorist traveling almost 10 miles north of Aurora Indiana on Saturday night claims to have encountered an unusual figure on the road. While driving his black Chevrolet Cavalier southbound along North Hogan Road, a "figure" was spotted in the headlights of the automobile. The figure was crouched down near a puddle of water. From the driver's perspective, the figure was spotted out of the windshield on the right of the car.

After passing the frail-looking figure, the driver looked into his rear view mirror and again observed--illuminated by the taillights of his car--what he described as a tall, abnormal figure that moved strangely with pointed joints that "buckled out."
He estimated the figure stood around 6 feet, seven inches. "It had protruding joints and moved very strangely."

The driver said he was able to ascertain the figure, alleged to be dark gray or black, and "pencil thin," stand up and take several steps toward the woods along the roadside. The figure definitely walked on two legs and was thought somehow to be a male, although no clothing was noted. No face or eyes could be seen, but the witness had the impression that the figure was looking straight at him.

The figure was immediately thought to be something out of the ordinary, not a human being. The duration of the sighting was "hurried" and possibly within the 3 to 4 second range. The driver continued on for a small distance after passing the figure and finally put on his brakes, coming to a stop at an estimated 2 minute walking distance on the road from the location of the sighting. He looked back to further observe the entity. At that point, a second car came into view and approached from the opposite direction, passed, and then reached the spot on the road where the figure was thought to be. The 17 year old motorist reportedly watched closely and observed the second car undertake what he thought to be an evasive maneuver near the vicinity of where he thought the figure would be situated, and then the car turned around at that spot and shortly pulled up behind him, somewhat in the grass.

There was an elderly couple in the car, both in their late 60s or early 70s and both with gray hair. The driver, who wore glasses, said,

"Boy, did you see something back there? I'll tell you right now, that was no person."

The passenger, an elderly female said,

"It was no human being, it was no man."

The elderly couple was reportedly "spooked" but offered to follow the first witness the remainder of the trip down North Hogan Road, clearly in the opposite direction of their intended destination route. It was thought that the elderly couple observed this same figure on the opposite side of the road, and possibly had observed it more closely. Later, the 17 year old witness was said to have become hysterical and within an hour was describing the figure as an "alien."
