BEK or Angel of Death?

BEKs by Sam Shearon
Here's a strange BEK account sent to me recently. It's dated 2014 and there was no source specified, nor did the sender recall where he had seen it originally.

Nevertheless, it's an interesting report. The incident occurred on January 20, 2014 in Tavares, Florida.

Of note is that Tavares is in central Florida, north of Orlando and near two bodies of water, Lake Dora and Lake Eustis. I've received other odd reports from the area of various types of phenomena including UFO sightings.
This BEK report is yet another example of how these creepy kids can show up anywhere at any time:

"The witness had just left work and was taking a less traveled road home, old 441. Everything was going as normal on his typical drive home until he came to a red light.

No cars on the road at all; just him sitting there. Suddenly, it seemed to the witness as if time "had stood still" and the sounds became very long and drawn out.

After he had come to a stop, out of the darkness on the passenger side of the car, all of a sudden, a teenager appeared. He was about 15 feet from the car. He was wearing blue jeans and a hoodie that was up over his head. From what the witness could see, it appeared he had little to no facial
features-especially the eyes. The eyes were blacker than the darkness. The witness felt fear beyond explanation. He turned his gaze off the "teenager" and looked back toward the light when he saw what looked like and identical twin crossing the road very, very slowly in front of his car, as though to hold him up if the light did change.

The next thing he knew, the "boy" was at the side of his car, approaching the car as though he was going to get in. The witness was filled with an overwhelming fear and thought he was going to die. At the time, he remembers thinking, "This is the Angel of Death."

He thought about running the light and had a feeling that somehow the two strange figures were 'talking' to each other, without talking out loud. As far as he knows, the figure never touched the car. A car started to approach from behind and the light changed.

As he was leaving, he looked back and both 'boys' were gone. The witness was so frightened that he thought that the two strange beings were going to show up at his house. Thankfully, they did not."

Monsterland Reviewed

One of the aspects within the paranormal that I find most intriguing, and that I often bring up in lectures, are concentrated areas of high strangness.

Called among other things, portal areas or window zones, these areas can be found around the world. Examples include England's Cannock Chase, Vermont's Bennington Triangle and the infamous Skinwalker Ranch in Utah.

Of course a new book about such an area is always of interest to me and I've just read one that fits the bill perfectly. Monsterland by Ronny Le Blanc.

Monsterland itself is an area of Leominster, Massachusetts. Within its boundaries are reports of UFOs, Bigfoot, and glowing orange orbs that dart around in the sky. The book covers all of these topics and gives us a good picture of Monsterland.
Le Blanc quotes well known cryptozoologist Loren Coleman who gives us a great description of the area:

"...Leominster State Forest, a 4,300 acre parcel of forested land that includes the Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, containing the largest known area of old-growth forest east of the Connecticut River in Massachusetts. The entire greenway is composed of hardwood forests, alpine meadows, ponds, streams, and wood and shrub swamps. The area supports a rich and diverse wildlife and bird population.

Findings of Bigfoot tracks are so frequent in the area of Southern Leominster that it is known by residents thereabouts as "MONSTERLAND," a name that began during the time of sightings by local citizens of a hairy-manlike creature off Route 2 in the 1950's and 1960's."

The book covers historic accounts from the region, along with modern ones and Le Blanc's personal journey is an integral part of the text as he takes us along on some of the curious things that he has found in his explorations, all interwoven into the strange fabric of Monsterland.

Ronny also gives us the full story on what turned into a "life changing event" for Bill and Julie Penning. The discovery of a Sasquatch track and a report that caught the attention of the crew of Finding Bigfoot and led to an appearance on the show.

Some researchers aren't comfortable with the potential interconnection between various types of phenomena. Mention UFOs and Bigfoot in the same sentence and you'll see some eyes roll at the least, or fits of anger at the worse. I'm glad to see that's not the case in this book. It stood out to me that Le Blanc goes into his research with eyes wide open and seemingly without any preconceived notion of what the explanation may be. This is key to exploring such areas.

Monsterland, the area itself, is not a region that has received much attention or documentation so Le Blanc has done a great service to those who research such zones of high strangeness and unusual phenomena in general.

I recommend this book for those with an interest in Sasquatch, UFOs, and the interconnections of different types of phenomena. And of course, if you enjoy reading about zones of weird events, this is one to grab.

Personally, I'm now looking forward to a chance to go and explore Monsterland (the actual place) myself!

Russian Humanoid Encounter

Over the last several years, as the country of Russia has become more open, there have been an increasing number of reports of strange encounters that researchers in the west have gained access to. Combined with a growing number of Russian investigators digging into weird accounts in their country, it's opened the doors to many fascinating reports.

Researcher Albert S. Rosales recently sent me this weird tale about an incident that occurred near Moscow on a September afternoon in 2000:

Friends had persuaded the witness to rent a villa outside of Moscow for a couple of days of rest and relaxation. Being an avid mushroom hunter, one morning, she ventured into the deep woods alone to search for fungi.

Being unfamiliar with the area, she wandered deep into a forested thicket and, before realizing what time it was, darkness had set in. Lost, and hoping her friends would come and find her, she sat on a tree stump.
Suddenly, from behind the bushes appeared a strange figure wearing some type of military uniform and cloaked cape. Strangely, she was not afraid but felt happy as the stranger pointed out the correct way to the village. But before she could say a word of gratitude, the stranger suddenly removed his hood.

Stunned, the woman recognized the stranger as a boyfriend from long ago, one she had passionately loved who had disappeared in the mountains of Afghanistan in the early 1980's. She was not really afraid, rather, startled.
She felt joy and acute pain at the same time. She then attempted to say something or ask him a question, but suddenly, she had throat spasms and it became difficult to breathe. It felt as if her heart would jump out of her chest.
She saw the now familiar figure stretch out his arms towards her and say something which she was not able to understand. The twilight suddenly parted and out her long lost friend's eyes, a beam of unusual purple light shone forth. The woman suddenly felt surprisingly good and even felt a strong, sexual arousal then suddenly, she felt "disconnected."

Apparently, she blacked out and when she suddenly regained consciousness, the woman was surprised to find that she was no longer sitting on the tree stump. She was now walking through the woods and saw the lights of the village ahead of her where her friends were eagerly waiting.

Supernatural Today App

There's a new app out from the guys who brought us Cryptozoology Today and it's another winner.

I reviewed the Crypto themed app back in October, and actually suggested that something similar be done with the ghostly side of the supernatural, and lo and behold, here it is, Supernatural Today.

They've basically followed the same format they used with the cryptozoology app and applied it to a different theme--this time covering ghosts and hauntings.

The app opens to a news feed with stories from around the globe from various sources. It's easy to just stick to the main page and a couple of people I spoke with about the app have done just that. But in doing this, they're missing out on a whole lot more. In the upper left corner of the screen is a drop down menu that will lead you to a blog list and a sightings map. The blog list will pull up postings from popular blogs that deal with the supernatural.  The map covers the globe and clicking on pegs will show you what was encountered and where, and of course, there's a hot link to take you to the full story.

Still lacking is any kind of events page to lead people to conferences, lectures and such, but that may be too difficult to manage, or require a whole app in and of itself since there's so much happening on a regular basis.

Since the app is designated as part of the "Today" series and they're covering the world of the strange, I would assume we may see a UFO version of the app soon. Or maybe I'm just throwing another suggestion out to the guys!

Either way, this is another winner and if you're reading my blog you're clearly interested in the supernatural, so by all means, go download this! It's a great resource and updated all the time. Supernatural Today is available on both itunes and in the google play store.

Update on the Max Spiers Mystery

I previously wrote about the strange death of UFOlogist Max Spiers and the conspiracy unfolding around his passing this summer.

http://twocrowsparanormal.blogspot.com/2016/10/strange-death-of-ufologist-max-spiers.html

Purportedly, Max had previously had an issue with drug abuse and skeptics have been proclaiming he simply went back to his old ways and overdosed. Other accounts are adamant that Max had cleaned up his act and that something more sinister was afoot.
The bottom line--there didn't seem to be any strong evidence that Max had overdosed. With the report the he was vomiting "black fluid," and the weird, final message to his mother; "Your boy's in trouble. If anything happens, investigate," there would seem to be much more to the mystery of his untimely death.

Max died in Poland where officials quickly dismissed the death as due to "natural causes." His body was sent back to the UK where officials at Margate's QEQM Hospital were unable to establish a cause of death.

Max's mother has been making an effort to get officials to look into her son's passing and find out exactly why and how he died.

Now, Kent Online has reported that a new inquest was opened in Canterbury on Monday to look into the mysterious case and hopefully, find some answers for Max's family and friends.
A report on the inquest's initial findings state that Max first suffered a high temperature and weakness and that the following day, he vomited two liters of a "black fluid." It's a disturbing aspect of the case that no one has found an explanation for as of yet.

There's also an effort underway to have Max's cell phone and laptop forensically analyzed to see if any further details can be gleaned into what exactly he was looking into.

Max's final interview:

Beyond the Darkness

I'm honored to be the first guest on the new show, Beyond the Darkness on the Jericho Network at podcastone.

I'll be discussing a newly received report of a BEK encounter that I documented during my trip down under to Australia. This reports comes to us from outside Melbourne and is pretty creepy.

The episode is available for download today, here's more info from the show description:

"First up The Black Eyed Kids & Possession with respected researcher and author of Black Eyed Children, David Weatherly along with renowned demonoligist, Keith Johnson & the Reverend Mother, Bishop Kristina Rake.

December 2016 BEK Update

There continue to be tons of reports of encounters with black eyed kids hitting the Internet and while many of the same elements show up time and again, we continue to see some variations. Reports of the creepy kids have become so widespread that they have now become firmly planted into pop culture with movies, television and comics utilizing the little monsters.

First up this month, a report posted at UFO Sightings Hotspot involving a New York man named Terry who rode the subway back and forth to work on a daily basis. He encountered a black eyed kid one day and became obsessed with trying to figure out what "it" was. As described in the account:

"The child was only three feet tall, wearing a baseball cap. The youngster wore his cap visor down, like an army soldier. Other than that, Terry thought it was a normal ten year-old...until it looked back at him. Its eyes were shiny and wet, like the eyes of a lower animal."

Terry became so consumed with trying to figure out exactly what the entity was that he lost both of his jobs. Then, he found himself face to face with the boy who became angry at Terry's lack of compliance:

"Suddenly the small boy became very angry. "It's your responsibility to look after me! I am helpless!"

Read the full, weird account at:

Next, an account from a tourist from Michigan traveling in Europe. Late one night, strange sounds in the hotel hallway lead the witness to open the door and she encountered a creepy black eyed girl in a white nightdress.

"She started smiling. I could see that her teeth were almost similar to a vampire."

The witness retreated but of course, the BEK proceeded to knock at the room door screaming to be let inside. A disturbing experience indeed:

Monroe House: A Sinister Haunting

The Monroe House in Hartford City, Indiana has been getting a lot of attention recently with the premiere of season 2 of Nick Groff's Paranormal Lockdown featuring the home.

Society of the Supernatural investigated the creepy house over a year ago and recently we went on Paranormal Zone TV to discuss some of our evidence and the hauntings at the location. We were also joined by the home's current owners who talked about the current status of the house.

If you missed Monday's live stream show, the archive is now available for viewing here:

For more information on the Monroe house:

For our previous investigation of the home:

Point Pleasant, Haunted Lowe Hotel Night 1

I was recently back in one of my favorite spots for high strangeness, Point Pleasant, West Virginia along with my cohort from Society of the Supernatural, Dave Spinks.

Point Pleasant is of course best known for its encounters with the Mothman in the late 1960's, but the town has other supernatural elements too. From rumors of a Native American curse on the land itself, to haunted buildings. Plus, it's home to a cryptid themed museum devoted of course to the Mothman!

We spent two nights in the haunted Lowe Hotel, right across from the museum and conducted some investigations. Reports from the hotel include the ghost of a ship's captain, a distraught woman and a child that rides a tricycle in the halls. Here's some footage from the first night:

Somewhere in the Skies Reviewed

Ryan Sprague owes me a whiskey.

I should probably explain that:

I read a lot, always have, and as you may suspect, it's pretty much all within the spectrum of the things that I pursue so much; cryptids, ghosts, UFOs. I'm also one of those people who tends to read several books at a time and it's no problem keeping things straight.
So, to get on point, Ryan Sprague sent me a copy of his new book, Somewhere in the Skies (With a very kind personal inscription). I figured it would be one of those titles I was reading along with several others. So, I sat back one night to just read a few pages. Breezed through acknowledgements, the foreword and then I hit the intro, which starts with this:

"UFOs are here whether we like it or not. The question isn't their existence. It's the intention of whatever lay at the source of the phenomena. The source remains a mystery, no matter what you may have heard, read, or seen."

Well damn. This was eloquent I thought, and now I'm going to have to sit here and finish the whole thing.
This is Sprague's first book and he didn't exactly choose an easy field to delve into right off the bat. We've had tons of books dealing with the topic of UFOs so anytime something new shows up, it either sinks into the reams of pages already written, or it rises to the top and stands on it's own.

I'm happy to say that Somewhere in the Skies is one of the rare books that has something different to offer those of us who study the topic. And the difference is really emphasized by the book's subtitle: "A Human Approach To An Alien Phenomenon."

Ages ago, one of my idols in the field, John Keel, told me to always pay close attention to the people involved in the accounts I collected. A good investigator notes small details and reads people, he added. I took it to heart and have always tried to look at the witness's body language and other subtle communications. It's equally important to be patient with people and to know how and when to push for more. Sprague, a relatively new guy in this field, has this down pat. He asks the right questions at the right time, probing just beyond to try to understand the human factor involved in the encounters he covers, and this is what makes his book stand out. Yes, he gives details of the various sightings and descriptions of the craft and so forth, but he goes beyond that. Many investigators don't really talk to the witness. They're more focused on the data, the conditions, the things they can analyze in an attempt to reach some scientific conclusion.

What Sprague puts attention on is the fact that we're now decades into experiences on this planet with...something that we still don't have an answer for. And these experiences have become a part of our consciousness and subconsciousness.
As he says at the beginning, Ufos are here to stay. The thing is, not many people are considering their impact on a human level. Sprague certainly hammers the point home; this phenomena is as much about people as it is anything else. It's something that more Ufologist would benefit by being more aware of.

And has for that "ologist" term, I got a bit of a chuckle in the book. When a witness innocently asks if he's a Ufologist, Sprague quickly responds that he's a journalist. Stating to his readers:

"While it was indeed a topic of study, I never considered myself knowledgeable enough to stamp the "ologist" on my forehead. At least, not yet."

Sorry to break the news to you my friend, but this book firmly stamps that "ologist" on you from here on out.

As to the whiskey?
Well, ironically, someone shot me a message the day after I read Sprague's book and said "Hey, have you read this? This Sprague guy kinda writes like you." Not sure if that's a compliment or not Ryan, but for a guy's first book in the field, you've set the bar high for yourself and others. So that my friend is why you owe me a whiskey. Or maybe I owe you one. Either way, excellent job, I look forward to seeing what you put your pen to next!

More Silver Suited Humanoids

My recent post on Silver Suited Humanoids generated a lot of interest and questions as to how often creatures in such attire have been reported. There are quite a number of such incidents, here's an earlier one. This account occurred near Quebra-Coco, Ceres, Goias, Brazil.

Of note here is the fact that the witness was a naval officer.

Night of October 10, 1957:

Spanish Naval officer and mineralogist Miguel Navarrete and his chauffeur were returning from a fishing trip when they spotted a bright light that had began a steep climb into the sky. After finishing the climb the men realized that it was a huge object a few hundred meters in diameter. Its light was so intense that it clearly illuminated the area around the witnesses, even while at a great height.

The driver panicked and tried to drive the truck away from the area. However, the truck's engine stalled and at the same time, the huge object approached, flying over the vehicle hovering at about 40 yards away.

The craft was about 140 meters in diameter and about 40m tall, oval in shape with the top higher than the bottom, like two superimposed plates separated by a band of approximately 20 meters deep. When it was at about 6 meters in height, the light went out and it stopped in midair. It then landed.

Once it landed a large door opened and the witness saw 7 human-like figures, with blond hair and wearing shiny silvery outfits. The aliens exited the object briefly and stared silently at the truck and the stunned witnesses. After returning to the craft the object took off and stopped at about 500 feet in altitude. At this point a smaller object came out of it and flew in a northern direction at high speed.

The larger object then disappeared towards the southeast. After the incident, Mr. Navarrete was interviewed by local magistrate, Dr. Gabriel Barbosa and his deputy Paulo Roberto de Carvalho.
After the interview the judge sent a letter to the Secretary of the Interior and the Head Justice for the state of Goias reporting the incident.

Source: Judge Gabriel Barboza De Andrade & "The Humanoids." Thanks also to researcher Albert S. Rosales for posting the report.

Annabelle 2

Annabelle 2 makes its way to theaters next year with a release date of August 11th, 2017.

The sequel to the creepy hit about one of the world's most famous haunted dolls is being directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by James Wan who directed the Conjuring 1 and 2.

The Annabelle films are listed as part of the Conjuring film series, based on real paranormal cases investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren.

New Line Cinema is presenting the film. According to the studio's synopsis:

"Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation, Annabelle."

The film version of Annabelle is completely different in appearance from the real haunted doll that's long been locked securely in a cabinet held by the Warren family.

Thylacine Awareness Continues to Grow

For years, people have reported sightings of animals matching the description of the supposedly extinct Tasmanian Tiger.

In fact, there are countless sightings, photos and video clips that certainly seem to support the argument for the continued existence of the Thylacine.

Neil Waters and his organization, the Australian Thylacine Awareness Group, continues to gain attention in their efforts to track down further proof on the tiger. According to the group's own description:

"The Thylacine Awareness group of Australia is dedicated to the research, recognition and conservation of our most elusive apex predator, the Thylacine. It is a group for people who believe in the existence of Thylacines and want to see something done about their recognition and protection for the future of all Australians to appreciate and respect."

The group recently got a great spot on Today Tonight Adelaide. The story includes some of the fascinating video that has been captured of elusive Thylacine. Check it out at the link below:

Black Eyed Man Radiates Evil

Over the years, there's been a growing number of accounts of black eyed people of all ages. While many of the reports of back eyed kids fit a certain mold, when the entities appear older, there's more variation in the encounters. One gets the sense that whatever these things are, some of them at least, are out there making an attempt to blend in to normal society.

Sometimes, it's the subtle aspects of black eyed people cases that are the most unsettling. Time and time again, I hear from witnesses who report how terrified they were just being in the presence of these beings, afraid to make eye contact and hoping to just get the encounter over with as quickly as possible.

It's often hard for witnesses to convey how frightening these experiences are and how difficult it is to shake off the resulting emotions and after effects.

I recently received the report below from Kris, who encountered a disturbing young man while at her place of work. Kris experienced a range of emotions and fear as she dealt with a creepy individual who emanated sinister energy. She found herself calling on God for protection from what she perceived as "evil" radiating off of the man:

"Today was an experience I will never forget. I will never forget those eyes.

I work in a retail location in Pennsylvania and around 1:15 this afternoon, a kid came into my store. He was more like a young man, maybe early 20's actually and he seemed to have a bit of facial hair on his chin. Sorry if my description isn't the best, I tried my best not to look at him much.

Anyway, I ended up helping this young man pick an item out. I was reluctant but I just wanted to get him out of the store so I helped him.

He had no irises. Just like really big pupils is how they looked. I felt uneasy the entire time and he seemed sort of normal otherwise beside the eyes but I was sure they weren't any trick contact lenses as I have seen those before. And again, there was this feeling of dread that seemed to emanate out of him. He looked like something out of an episode of the X-Files.

The only other distinctive things I can remember about him was that he had a backpack on and he paid in cash for the item. The items only cost 6.97 and I also rang him out so he handed me 7 dollars in cash. I remember trying not to make contact with his hands because I felt very afraid and really felt like this 'person' was filled with evil and darkness. So I dropped 3 cents into his hand and it almost was if he could read my mind because I think I was playing it cool but he must have known my fears as he shot me a cold stare toward the end of the transaction. Sort of tilted his head to the side and just stared at me for about 3 seconds. My eyes only met his for about half of that time but I could still see him out of the corner of my eye as I turned away.

I remember as he put the item into his backpack, at least, I think he did, as he began to leave I could feel his eyes on me still and I remember thinking about God and Jesus and even the archangel Michael because I legitimately felt like I could be attacked or somehow infected by this person's evil.

Sorry if this is long and doesn't quite fit the black eyed children theme because again this person seemed to be in his early 20's but nonetheless a terrifying experience I won't soon forget. Thank god it was during the day.

I am home now and hoping nothing happens tonight. I have heard the saying 'the eyes are the window to the soul.' Well if that is true this guy's eyes are the window to hell.

Thank you for reading this and I will try to check back for any comments or feedback especially your take on it David being as you are the only person I know that speaks about this with any authority. (I heard you on a podcast a year or so ago speaking about this phenomenon.)

Thanks again and I wish that everyone who is aware of this phenomenon never runs into any person who looks like the person that came into my store this afternoon. Utterly terrifying."

Cryptid Art is the way to go if you're looking for a truly unique and one of a kind gift for the monster hunter on your list, and hands down one of my favorite sources is "Eerie" Eric Fargiorgio. Eric works in a variety of mediums, does original pieces, and has also become known for adding monsters, UFOs and other oddities to classic paintings. You haven't seen an old landscape until you've seen one with Sasquatch roaming across it!
If you manage to catch Eric at an event, you'll get to see a range of his work, otherwise, contact him through his Facebook page and see what he has available:

Worlds Beyond Forum

I had a fantastic time speaking at the Worlds Beyond Forum at this year's Earthcore Festival in Melbourne, Australia.

An hour and a half outside of Melbourne, Earthcore comes alive. Similar to Nevada's Burning Man Festival, the site becomes a city in and of itself, lights, music, food, goods, and much, much more.
The experience was incredible and a bit surreal, exactly as it's meant to be I believe.

Spiro Boursine, the event organizer, has done an amazing job pulling off this festival year after year. Special thanks to him for having me over, as well as Bill Tabone of the Australian Paranormal Society. One of the blessings of traveling in this field is making new friends and great connections. Hands down, everyone was kind, helpful and easy to get along with. I certainly enjoyed my time "down under" and was even made an honorary Aussie!

Phantoms, Monsters & BEKs

Lon Strickler over at the Phantoms and Monsters site has been collecting accounts of the strange for a long time. It's a blog I read on a regular basis as I often find fascinating accounts to add to my own research.

Recently, Lon and another friend of mine, Ash Staunton, have been gathering a lot of past accounts and collecting them into a series of volumes.
The latest, titled "Phantoms & Monsters Unexplained Encounters" has just arrived and it's another goldmine of information.

There's a good variety of stories in each volume, and two things that stood out for me in this release is that it's rich in accounts of black eyed entities as well as accounts of dogmen/werewolves.

Here's one I got permission to share with all of you:

BEK: 'Can we use your phone?'

"It was about 3 years ago. November 2012; when I was working at a small gas station in North East Louisiana.

We were the only small shop and 24 hour service station in miles, just off the highway. I worked the night-shift. I loved it; the sharing of stories with the traveling customers. That is when the rare customer showed up.

It must have been around 3 am. I was cleaning the floors and locking the beer coolers when suddenly the lights went out. I pulled out my cell and used it as a guiding light until I made it back to our counter where I kicked on the gas generator. It lit the parking lot, the bath and the hall leading to the register. When I looked outside, I could just make out the movement of the trees across the street, but, otherwise, it was pitch black.

I turned on the radio and started listening to a local station with its night owl DJ, commenting on the heavy winds and cracking jokes between songs.

Suddenly I saw some figures in the dark. I could just make them out. They seemed to be a group of kids on bikes. There were three of them. Two of them dropped their bikes and made their way to the door where they just stood there staring at me. I just stared back for a moment, waiting for them to come in. They never did. I moved around the counter and opened the door.

"What's up guys? Out kinda late aren't you?" I asked them, expecting them to come in.

"Can we use your phone?" one asked, their heads tilted kinda low. I felt a little worried as I pulled my cell from my pocket and offered it to her. "Sure."

She looked at me and then I saw her eyes; they were solid black, almost like ink filled orbs. "No, I need the real one!" she said, her face twisted into an angry snarl.

I pulled the door closed and flipped the locks. "No! No, you go home and get your mom's phone." They stared at me through the door for a minute longer before turning away and biking off.

The next day I had my boss check the cameras to get the pictures of the creepy kids but the cameras had been off the whole time. Now the cameras run off the generator instead of the hall lights.

I never saw the kids again."

There are a few fascinating things about this account. First, the kid insists on using the "real phone," obviously meaning the landline inside the store. This could have been a ploy to be invited inside. On the other hand, there are other accounts of BEKs who don't seem to understand that a cell phone is actually a phone. Another indication that they are out of place or out of touch with our modern world.

The situation with the cameras is equally interesting. I'm constantly asked about "genuine" photos of black eyed entities. This is difficult territory because photos can be so easily faked now. What I find more intriguing is that in many of these encounters security cameras and the like are not functioning properly. In the above report, the cameras are down due to the power outage, but what a strange coincidence that the BEKs chose that time to show up.

Check out Lon's new book for more of these creepy accounts. Available in both paper and kindle editions at Amazon.com:

Zombies!!! by Midnight Syndicate Reviewed

I've long enjoyed Midnight Syndicate's unique and innovate music as a perfect backdrop for delving into many of the creepy topics that I research. As background music, it often helps spark creative energy and it certainly sets the mood for delving into the supernatural. I've done plenty of writing with these guys playing in the background.

Last year, the Syndicate surprised us with a Christmas themed release that I reviewed here:

http://twocrowsparanormal.blogspot.com/2015/12/christmas-ghostly-gathering-reviewed.html

It was a great CD, and I'd be happy to see the band do more Christmas themed music. Christmas is, after all, a very haunting holiday and the perfect time for ghost stories.

This year however, they've gone back to their more standard Halloween fare with a particular focus--Zombies.

Their latest effort is actually designed as an official soundtrack for the board game Zombies!!! and the result is pretty cool.

Midnight Syndicate, aka Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka, are masters at atmospheric storytelling via music. Undertaking a soundtrack for a game about the walking dead was likely both fun and natural for the duo and the results are clear and enjoyable.

The opening track, "It Begins," sets the pace and hearkens back to classic zombie movies bringing to mind the lumbering movements of the undead.

Other tracks include "I Don't Think They're Dead," "Alternate Food Source," and "We're Screwed."
The band mixes in various sound effects to good effect. Distant air sirens, a static filled radio broadcast giving a short news update, disjointed horns giving the impression of people fleeing in fear, it all adds up to a soundtrack suited for the Zombie apocalypse.

It's great background music for Halloween parties, gaming, or if you just want a creepy atmosphere. The CD has 18 tracks and runs 48 minutes. Nine of the tracks are new material with the remaining nine being remixed or updated tracks from previous CD's. I can highly recommend all of Midnight Syndicate's CD's.

Silver Suited Humanoids: 1973

Here's a curious humanoid encounter from November 4, 1973.  Although there are scant details, the account is interesting, especially considering the presence of an animal who reacts in a frightened way and retreats from the bizarre figures.
The location of the encounter is Goffstown, New Hampshire:

"A brushing sound against their house awakened Rex Snow and his wife.

Rex observed two self-luminous, silver suited beings about 4 1/2- 5 feet tall, 60 feet away in the backyard. They had over-sized, pointed ears, dark, egg shaped eye holes, and large noses, all encased in the silver coverall. They had on silver boots with upturned toes.

One humanoid held a flashlight like object while the other picked up things from the ground and put them in a silver bag. Their movements were slow but deliberate.

The family dog, Miko, trained as a guard dog, was ordered to attack them, but halted when 30 feet away, made some lunges at them, then walked back and laid down whining on the kitchen floor.

Rex had observed a silver saucer shaped object about 5 hours earlier that night."

Haunted Monroe House

The Monroe House in Hartford City, Indiana has an incredibly dark reputation. There are rumors of Satanic rituals being performed in the home and, even more disturbing, there are rumors that several children have died in the house over the years. Shortly after buying the place, the home's current owner found an old Ouija board inside, at the least, it was a sign that previous attempts to communicate with something had occurred in the house.

The home is well known by people living in Hartford City and surrounding areas. Ghost stories connected to the house go back to at least the 1960's. Many residents, as well as neighbors, have reported seeing the apparition of a young girl in one of the upstairs windows and many people go out of their way in order to avoid the place.

The accounts of paranormal activity are crazy. Class A EVPs are common, strange ghost lights that come and go, and countless reports of physical attacks. Numerous people have become physically ill just being in the home and are forced to leave. There are also reports of strange fires that cannot be explained.

Dave Spinks and I undertook an investigation of the home on one of our Indiana tours. It's a nasty, creepy location that lived up to its reputation.

During our time in the house, shadow figures darted all around inside the home. A door was slammed on us, as if something was attempting to confine us in a certain area. We experienced equipment issues, watched as a toy activated itself, and had several other strange events. We also heard disembodied voices, some of them children, or at least, what sounded like children.

The Monroe House is soon to be featured on the season premiere of Paranormal Lockdown. Don't know what those guys caught, but we had plenty of evidence. For a portion of what Society of the Supernatural captured, check out the video of some of our time in this notorious, dark location:
